WASHINGTON — National Right to Life announced its endorsement of Delbert Hosemann for re-election as Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi.
“National Right to Life is pleased to endorse Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann for re-election,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Throughout his career in public service, Lieutenant Governor Hosemann has demonstrated strong leadership on behalf of unborn children and their mothers.”
Delbert Hosemann supports protections for unborn children and their mothers, and he opposes using Mississippi tax dollars to pay for abortions. Following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs vs. Jackson, Hosemann appointed a study group to hold hearings, hear testimony, and draft legislation related to issues facing women, children, and families in Mississippi, including adoption, foster care, child support, and maternal and child healthcare. In December, the group unveiled a series of proposals, much of which has since been signed into law.
“Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann is deeply committed to building a culture of life,” said Tobias. “With his leadership, Mississippi can continue to make historic progress in protecting life and making abortion unthinkable.”
Delbert Hosemann is also endorsed by Mississippi Right to Life, the state affiliate of National Right to Life.
“Our endorsement is recognition of your years of dedicated service in defense of human life for innocent unborn babies, the elderly, and those with disabilities,” said Barbara Whitehead, president of Mississippi Right to Life. “We appreciate your 100 percent pro-life commitment and 100 percent pro-life voting record through the years.”
